Unlike modern medical science, Ayurveda puts an extra emphasis on not just the food, but the eating process too. In short, Ayurvedic diet is not a diet chart but a way of life.

For example, fruits are beneficial for our body. If we consume these fruits at the wrong time they can be harmful and even cause diseases. It’s really important to follow a few rules that can help us extract the maximum benefits from our food.

The Secret of The Magical Diet: How Should We Eat?

People who wrote Ayurveda were not like the modern-day physicians, in fact, their whole psychology towards treatment was different.

While modern science mainly focuses on treating the symptoms of the diseases, Ayurveda teaches us to improve our body and it’ll heal the symptoms itself.

Focus on the time of Sunrise and Sunset

According to Ayurveda, we should eat between sunrise and sunset. It says that our digestive fire rises as the sun rises, and falls gradually as sunsets. Food that is eaten after sunset doesn’t get digested properly, accumulates in our body, and creates harmful toxins.

95% of all the diseases that we suffer, originate from the stomach. Hence it is important we keep our stomach clean and digestion proper.

So it’s important that you don’t eat after the sunset.

Special Characters Have Special Foods at Special Times

When I was a child, our school organised “Go As You Like” programs. We used to dress as different personalities (king, queen, merchant, villager, etc.) and enact that role for a whole day.

Do a similar thing with the food you eat. Did you get it? I’ll clarify.

Eat Like A King During Breakfast!

A person should have his breakfast like a king. Since it’s the first meal of the day, in order to pass the day with higher energy eat high-quality food. Be picky with the nutritional constituents of the food.

Eat Your Lunch Like A Prince

Although Prince is a royal too, his appetite is larger than the king. He’s going to eat more food since he can digest more. Hence, the lunch should be the heaviest meal of the day.

Along with that, the digestive fire is at the peak during lunch time hence you can digest faster.

Eat Your Dinner Like A Pauper

Unlike the day-time meals fit for the royals, you should eat light like a pauper during dinner. Dinner time should be just before or during sunset so your digestive fire will be at the lowest.

Eat less at dinner so your body can digest the food you eat.
